ACHIEVEMENT: A Youth Resource Centre is easily accessible to young people in the City of Melbourne.

TARGET DATE: December 2003.

PROGRESS: Some.

DESCRIPTION: A discussion and educational centre that will deal with problems that affect adolescents. Families, relationships, sexual health, happiness and safety, drugs, independence, work and mental health are some of the complex issues that adolescents need to deal with. Young people will be encouraged to identify issues, research, arrange lectures and create strategies to help the transition to adulthood. The findings of the centre will be presented in local, State and Federal Government to create understanding, adequate funding and meaningful representation.

FURTHER INFORMATION: This idea was initiated by Harry Barber, Greens Lord Mayoral Candidate in 2001.
